Rex B

I’m Rex B, and here’s my story: I’m originally from the streets of Lebanon, and I was rescued and adopted in Canada during the “international adoption” phase that happened between 2020 and 2022.

Unfortunately, these good souls in Lebanon who made us come to this wonderful country, were not aware that the Quebec Statistics for “keeping” us in a home are less than 2 years.

So here I am, a “statistic” of La Belle Province, and I am looking for a new home. I arrived here in 2022 as a teen pup, and after being in a home for over a year, I was surrendered because I was always a little “growly” and I bit a 3 month old puppy. This pup came to be fostered, and I didn’t necessarily want to share. I already had a “brother” that I liked to dominate a bit. So when I bit her, my dad got mad and kicked my bed in anger. My mom then thought it was better to send me away immediately.

I’m super friendly, great in the house, get along with dogs but do have some resource guarding around my food.

I can be your best friend for life, if you’ll have me for the rest of my life, which I hope will be at least 10 years.

I don’t want to bounce all over Quebec, I want a permanent home. I’m a Shepherd mixed with dozens of other breeds, your fun will be to guess what mixes my descendants might have been.

If you think you’d like to meet me and see if we “click”, the first step is to obtain an application The first step is to obtain an application form at http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Oliver B

My name is Oliver, and I’m just an amazing dog…

I love people (some say too much) as I just adore kisses! I can’t stop kissing unless you push me away.

I’m as goofy and sweet as a dog can get. I will become your best friend.

I’m a 4 year old pointer mix who comes from Lebanon. I didn’t have it easy back home, but I’m looking for a happy future.

I’m amazing with people, my charm is what helped me get food back on the streets.

Now, I’m hoping for a home. A real home for life.

I’m great with dogs and get along with cats. I’m fully housetrained, walk great on leash and can stay alone.

Ideally, if you have a fenced backyard and kids, or if you’re an active person, I could be the ideal companion.

To apply, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Tweety

I’m Tweety, and I’m a girl despite my name!  Someone chose it for me.

You see, I’m a dog rescued as a puppy from the streets of Lebanon. The family brought me home, raised me, and decided to give me a new life here in Canada. I loved growing up here!

But their new life became too “busy” with me in it, and after several months, came to the conclusion I needed a new home to “flourish” in.

I’m under 2 years old and most likely a Collie mix. I get along generally well with other dogs, but I do have a bit of resource guarding around other dogs.

I am friendly, affectionate, well behaved though some things need a bit of work like learning to walk well on leash.

If you think you have what it takes to be my FOREVER home, not just for a couple of years, put in your application.

To apply, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Maple

My name is Maple, and I’m an international adoption that didn’t work out, so I’m still looking for that special family.

I’m from Lebanon, and I’ve been here a year now, looking to find the right home.

I’m a mix of unknown origin as I was found on the streets. I’m about 3 years old, and a very sweet girl, weighing about 70 lbs.

I’m an active girl, but still very nervous around new things. However I’m super friendly and love all people. I’m looking for an energetic family as I love to run, play and spend time with my people.

I’m in a foster home with kids, dogs and Guinea pigs and love everyone. I’m easily adaptable to new situations, I’m even crate trained.

If you’d like to know me better to see if we could be “partners”, start by getting a form and go from there.

To apply, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Daisy Duke

I’m Daisy Duke, a 7 year old daschund/chihuahua mix.

I’m sweet as can be, very quiet, live everyone and everything.

My old dad has gotten sick and could no longer care for me, do I was brought to Sophie’s Dog Adoption.

I’m a little chunky as I was used to eating table scraps but have been trimming down.

I’m healthy, love going for walks, quiet and housetrained. What more can you get? I’m the ideal companion for anyone.

If you think I could become your soulmate, put in an application!

Augustus

I’ve been named Augustus, because I was saved in August.

You see, I’m a 10 month old, male, puppymill dog and my life could have been been very different than what I will get to experience now.

I’m supposed to be a Lhasa Apso mix, but I’m too tall. I weigh about 20 lbs as I’m rather slim. I could have some Schnauzer, it’s a guess.

I had hair pretty long hair however I needed a grooming and a fresh start, so we’re letting my hair grow in nicely. You’ll need to brush me regularly if you want me to look good!

I’m ok with other dogs. I’m in a foster home and making progress every day. I’m getting a little better at discovering this freedom and new experiences.

I’m still a little uncomfortable sometimes. I need a confident leader to show me what to do. I’m good at doing my business outside but still have some occasional accidents.

I’m not dominant at all with other dogs but I’m not submissive either. I’m good at communicating if I need space.

I don’t trust people much yet, so I avoid contact for now but my foster mom says I have so much potential.

I need to be exposed to everyone and everything. I’m very brave and want to learn and experience life.

I just need someone to show me the world and work with me.

I dont react to cats and I don’t bark…for now. Only when I’m a little scared. I have no separation anxiety so you’ll need to NOT “feel sorry” for me and render me needy for your presence. I’m crate trained (duh) and totally clean in it.

If you think I could be the one, put in your application.

To apply, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Tino the Tripod

My name is Tino and I’m a tripod. I came to this beautiful country just before the ban so I’ve been waiting for my new home for a year now. I was about 2 years old, so that makes me almost 3 years old now.

I’m a beautiful mutt, a common street dog, from Lebanon, and some idiot decided to hit me with his car.  It’s kind of a “sport” over there. Thankfully someone witnessed it, and rescued me.

My leg couldn’t be saved, so amputation was the way to go. And “go”, I can! You’d never know I am missing a leg. I can run, play, jump, climb stairs, just like any other smart dog.

I’m an active dog who LOVES people, I greet everyone who comes over and I have a lovely goofy side! I even sing karaoke with my foster mom! We can also do “car karaoke” since I adore going for rides.

Even though I’m a sweetheart and very affectionate, I am jealous and protective when it comes to other pets. I don’t want to share my human with another dog, and certainly NOT a cat. Therefore it is best that I be “the” dog in your life. Kids can be a part of that, if they’re gentle and dog savvy.

I can stay home while you’re gone, and my big voice would scare a robber.  Of course I know that my bathroom is outdoors, so no worries there.

My one and only FAULT, I’m strong. Walking me can be challenging especially if I see dogs, squirrels or other critters on my walks. I’m a big strong boy, so you need to be stronger or willing to teach me. It won’t get better without help! I’d rather run around free, but in this free world, I need to be on a leash I can’t run free. The irony 🤣.

I’ll make you laugh, I’ll keep you warm, I’ll be your best friend if you give me that chance.

To apply, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Pawla

My name is Pawla, and I’m a street dog from Morocco.

I was rescued by a lady who used to feed stray cats, when she noticed me, a young puppy, coming around to get some food too.

It was obvious I had a bad leg, a break that healed on its own. So she took me off the streets and eventually arranged for me to come to Canada.

I’ve been here for a while but nobody really worked on my socialization so Sophie’s Dog Adoption took me in and I am learning to go on walks outside and explore this new country.

I am very shy, still skittish of a lot, so I’m looking for a very patient person or family to slowly bring me to being a “normal” and confident girl.

I’m still young (-2 years old)and don’t have a prey drive do could live with cats or other critter.

Dogs I’m totally fine with. Having a dog friend could maybe even help me learn to be “free” of my past.

If you want more information about me you can e-mail info@sophiesdogadoption.com and to apply, visit

http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/

and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Lil’Bean

Hello world, I’m a puppymill rescue who’s going on 6 months old (I’m born in February) and August 1st was my first outing.

I’m very friendly, shy, but young enough to learn quickly about my surroundings.

Obviously structure will be a must as  my foster home has been working very hard with me.

I am now “housetrained”. I had never gone for a walk on a leash, but have been  learning all this in my foster home.

Sophie has called me Lil’Bean, but you can pick a better name. She just thinks I look like a cute little bean. I sure am active and bouncy, so be prepared before you even apply.

I’m possibly a Beagle mix, but it’s unknown what the mix is. I should not get much than 30 lbs though. One document says I’m a Pug mix!

Are you ready for an active puppy in your house? I’m going through the teething phase, so you’ll need lots of chew toys .

I’m being crated right now, and I would suggest you keep that up when you leave so I don’t develop separation anxiety. I don’t have “bad” habits yet, I just need to learn the right way.

To apply, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Koukoune

I’m Koukoune, a 5-month-old toy poodle who was surrendered with a broken front paw.

I am going to the vet this week to see how I’ve healed! I’ll also be getting spayed and will be ready for a real home.

I’m super socialized, friendly and playful with all people and dogs (big and small). I’ve learned good manners while recuperating from my broken leg, and really understand dogs who “tell me to get lost”!

I’m teething right now, so need someone knowledgeable or willing to learn how to deal with that.

I’m adorable if you think I’m right for you, put in your application.

Beauty

Hi there! My name is Beauty. I’m a 10 year old Maltese/Shih Tzu mix in excellent health. Even my teeth are in great shape.

I’m a very loving and sweet girl who loves everyone. I get along ok with dogs and cats but I have been known to be a bit of a bully if they’re in my space. I also don’t like seeing dogs on leash. I can be reactive.

I am a girl who was spoiled and could do as I please, so structure is a must especially if you have pets. I can be very manipulative with my cute face, so don’t give into me!

I’m obedient, playful, engaging and eager to please. I’m so friendly in fact that I could even be one one of those dogs who qualifies to visit people in the hospital to cheer them up.

All in all, I’m still young at heart and ready to give someone new all my love.

If you think I can charm your heart, put in your application by visiting http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Nestlé

I am Nestlé, and the color of chocolate! I’m a 6 year old Yorkshire mix, and very sweet.

I haven’t had the best quality care, my teeth were in horrendous shape and my hair is very thin.  I now have a clean mouth (minus 9 teeth) and eating quality food.

I’m very tiny, about 6 lbs, and very adaptable. I get along with other dogs, and I’m great with everyone.

If you think I’d be a girl for you, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Frisson

I’m Frisson, and yes I was French! My owner died and I was left at a shelter at my ripe old age of 12 years.

I’m still very healthy, had a recent dental, and quite active and playful for my age. I also have the cutest underbite. It adds to my charm, and I am a charmer!

I love attention, being petted, snuggling with you, but I don’t like being picked up. I can, and might, bite.

With time, I’m sure I can get used to a new family wanting to pick me up, but for now…better not.

I want nothing more than to find a new home for my Golden years. Ideally a retired person or couple, I’m active but don’t see myself with kids at my age.

To apply, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Prince Chewy

Hello big world! I’ve been named Prince Chewy and I’m a 9-month-old Chihuahua.

Long story short, I was sold to someone online, but being very skittish and not good with the house cats, I was gone within a week.

I’m super affectionate, and get along with other Chihuahuas, but will need a bit of work on structure for house training.

I’m not barky and can stay home alone, BUT I need lots of chew toys! I have chewed the remote, and a couple of gadgets laying around, hence my original name of Chewy!

I could be good with kids if kids are good with me.

If you think I could be your next best friend, put in your application.

To apply, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Bravy

I was named Bravy by my rescuer in Lebanon!

I’m a 6 year old female Lab mix. I was found in Lebanon as a stray, and I don’t remember my past, but I know for sure I have been through a lot.

As a stray in Lebanon, I was used for target practice and became blind in one eye. I have to tell you that I get around very well, it doesn’t affect me, just my look.

I walk fairly well on leash, I’m housetrained, I do well with people and dogs, but have not been tested with cats.

I also love car rides and have no problems getting around.

I love the attention, so I can be a bit jealous if other dogs are around, so I would prefer to be the only pet! I love playing with other dogs, but I don’t want a roommate.

If you want to make me part of your family, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Barney

Hello there hoomans! My name is Barney and I’m a 10 yr old Yorkie in excellent health. Even my teeth look good! I’m as sweet as I am cute and I’m a very good boy with other dogs and everyone I meet. As for cats, I would only be suitable to live with them if they are already used to dogs. I walk well on leash, I am not a barker inside nor do I bark at people or dogs I see outside but stray cats are another thing, I can stay home alone and I have absolutely no behavioural issues. I love car rides and playing with my squeaky toys. If you say the word TREAT, I’m all ears!

I used to live in a very peaceful home with an elderly lady who adored me and took pristine care of me. My new home should be one where I will be able to live out my golden years in peace and comfort. I’m used to pipi pads but only need them at night or when you leave. I will ask for the door when you’re home like a big boy. Keep in mind us older dogs need to go potty several times a day. Sometimes, I just ask for the door because I love spending time in the yard and chase squirrels. LOL! I also come with a few adorable coats and sweaters. I love getting dressed up because I know when I look extra cute.

To apply, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Gizmo 4

I’m Gizmo 4, and I’m a 3 year old Schnauzer mix of sorts.

My human mom recently passed away and my dad is going into a nursing home as he is unable to care for himself, nor me.

So I’m with Sophie’s Dog Adoption looking for a new home to call mine.

I’m a great little dog, good with my foster mom’s child, good with the other dogs and pretty much a loving  dog.

If you’d like to get to know me better, put in an application and you’ll get to know me before making a decision.

To apply, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Sia

My name is SIA and I am deaf but that doesn’t lit me.

I’m a 2.5-year-old English Setter who came from Lebanon where I was found tied in a bag, and thrown away like a piece of garbage, possibly because I was not a good working dog. I am extremely sweet despite my unknown past and my fur is as soft as velvet!

I’m an eager girl, social with people, kids and most dogs, (but can be in my own world sniffing and exploring).

I enjoy playtime and cuddles and make my foster family laugh every day with my silliness.

I currently live with a dog-savvy cat and the cat is the boss in our relationship. If there is a cat in my new family, please know it will take me time to work out our relationship.

I am house-trained, but I have my routine outside and need time to relax to do my thing. I would thrive in an active home that can provide me with ongoing structure and training.

Hiking, biking, and brain games would all make me a very happy girl.

I would make a good family dog with older kids, or with a couple. I am very food-driven which makes training easy. However, when I’m outside, the distractions can be too much for me to focus and may choose to not obey.

A securely fenced yard is a must for me as Setters are known to follow our noses if left unattended. Knowing my breed would be an asset to my new family!

If you think you’d like to give me a chance despite my hearing loss, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Alegria

I’ve been named Alegria, I’m a 9-month-old female Chihuahua pup (possible deer-head mix), and I’m looking for a home filled with structure and love.

I’m very energetic but loyal once I get to know you. I’m house-trained and will remind you when I’m due to go outside.

I really enjoy being rubbed behind the ears, giving you a smile, with closed eyes, full of satisfaction.

Outside strolls give me a lot to explore and smell, and I’m always ready to go.

I do get super excited when I see people and need to continue working on my manners. As for car rides, I have become a pro at being a backseat companion.

As with most chihuahuas, I can become attached to my human and will be very alert to anyone or anything coming near.

I’m slowly enjoying the security of my crate when it’s time to relax, but I do have separation anxiety, which my fosters have been working on. However, it’s a work in progress, so you will need to continue the work as I was very “spoiled” in my first home and have become needy for human companionship.

It is the hope of my foster mom that I touch and melt your heart the way I touched theirs. They will never forget me, that’s for sure!

If you think I could be your next best friend, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Choopie

My name is Choopie, and I’m a male. I’m 3 years old and of the Spitz family.

I came from Lebanon back in 2021 as an International adoption, but here we are, two and a half years later and I’m looking for a new home.

I’m super cute, super friendly with everyone, great with dogs and even young kids. But I can easily become the “boss” if you let me.

Us little cuties know how to manipulate and use our teeth when we’re not happy. So structure, discipline and rules MUST be established when I move in.

I’m learning while in foster care, but you will need to continue with the structure. I’m small enough to not overpower you, so teach me right from wrong and I’ll make you proud.

As all dogs do, I want to make you happy and become your best friend. But just like children, I need structure and discipline as well as love.

If you want me to be your best friend, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.
