We have recently been discussing adopting a dog for the house. And I was wondering if you had any suggestions on a dog from your shelter that would suit this new family. In total there are 3 residents but we are expecting 9, and 2 staff 24 hours, we have a fenced in small backyard and a small walking distance from the park. We would need a dog who is still somewhat young considering we would like to bring it to the park to play. One that is not afraid of people since there are many new faces to get used to, and of course not too loud since we are a hospital organization. And finally a dog who is not scared of men would be preferable since there are lots of men here. There are no other house pets nor children so that is not a problem. I had a retired 4 year old female chihuahua from a breeder for 5 months but she was allergic to my 2 cats. (dander and fur). Constantly sneezing and coughing due to her small nose and small trachea. After 4 visits to the vet and numerous medications including cortisone, the breeder took her back, I lost my deposit and she has now re-sold her. But I still miss her terribly. I live alone in a 1 1/2 room apartment, have 2 cats, both adopted strays, about 1-2 years of age. One female and one male, both neutered. I would love to have a small, loving, paper trained dog again, not a puppy. A dog that likes to be held and petted and gets along well with 2 gentle cats.
